The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Manchester Monarchs 5-2 on Saturday night at the Hartford Civic Center after taking an early 2-0 lead. Nigel Dawes got the Wolf Pack off to a great start when he found the net for a second straight game on a power play at 11:19 of the first period. Dawes' goal was assisted by Ryan Callahan and Ivan Baranka. Callahan, the game's No. 3 star, picked up another assist with 10 seconds left in the period when he and Brad Isbister set up a power-play goal by defenseman Marvin Degon. Leading 2-0 after one, the Pack yielded five unanswered goals in the final 40 minutes. Manchester managed to tie the game just two minutes into the second period and went ahead for good on a goal at 16:04 of the second. The Monarchs iced it with two more goals in the third period. Goaltender Stephen Valiquette made 12 saves in defeat for Hartford, which outshot the Monarchs 23-17. The Pack are now 15-16-2 on the season and will play their third game in three nights on Sunday. Visit Charlotte's official web site
The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, beat the August Lynx 4-3 on Saturday night at home. Charlotte came back from a 3-1 deficit with three unanswered goals in the game's final 25 minutes and notched the game-winner with only 1:34 to go. Rangers goaltending prospect Chris Holt was outstanding in net with 26 saves, including six in the third period. It was a big night for Sanguinetti at home, as the Rangers' No. 1 pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft notched a pair of goals in the third period. Sanguinetti's first goal stood up as the game-winner and gave the Attack a 5-3 lead at 5:31 of the third. He added his 17th goal of the season on a power play at 14:28 of the third, making it 6-4. Sanguinetti also took a minor penalty in the second period and finished the game with a plus-1 rating.

Hillier Ryan Hillier

Hillier had the primary assist on the goal that forced overtime, scored by Logan MacMillan on a power play at 5:35 of the third period. MacMillan's goal completed Halifax's comeback from an early 2-0 deficit. He also took two minor penalties in the game and finished the night with a plus-2 rating.

Ryan had the primary assist on Josh Soares' power-play goal at 16:54 of the first period, putting the Black Bears up 2-1. He also took a pair of minor penalties in the middle period, as Maine went on to win the Florida College Classic.
