Rangers Daily Prospect Update: Dec. 23, 2006

The Hartford Wolf Pack, the Rangers' American Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Providence Bruins 3-1 on Saturday night at the Hartford Civic Center. Defenseman Ivan Baranka scored the lone Wolf Pack goal on a power-play at 8:33 of the third period, cutting Providence's lead at the time to 2-1. Ryan Callahan and Greg Moore picked up the assists on Baranka's second goal of the season. The Bruins later put the game out of reach with an empty-net goal at 19:38. Jed Ortmeyer, who had the game-winner for the Wolf Pack one night earlier, had two shots on goal, as he continued his comeback from a pulmonary embolism. Goaltender Stephen Valiquette made 19 saves for Hartford, which is now 13-14-2 on the season. For more information, visit the Wolf Pack's official site.

Kozak had a big night for the RiverKings, scoring two goals in the opening period. His first goal came at the 3:04 mark, giving Memphis an early 1-0 lead. He then tallied again, getting the eventual game-winner with 2:33 left in the period to make it 3-1. He finished the game with a plus-2 rating.

Centering his team's third line, Zaborsky scored Slovakia's first goal at 8:56 of the opening period, tying the score at 1-1.

Dec. 23: Bern 4, Geneva Servette 3 (at Geneva)

Furrer was not in the lineup for Bern's win in Geneva.
