The Charlotte Checkers, the Rangers' East Coast Hockey League affiliate, fell to the Florida Everblades 7-2 in Game 2 of their American Conference South Division semifinal playoff series on the road Saturday night. Florida took a 2-0 lead in the series after building up a 5-0 lead in the second period. Rangers goaltending prospect Chris Holt started the game but was removed in favor of Evan Lindsay after yielding five goals in 27:32. Holt ended his night with 13 saves. Seven different Everblades players scored, and although the Checkers outshot Florida 38-34, they struggled to beat goaltender Craig Kowalski.
