Rangers Break Camp in Burlington - 34 Players Remain on Roster

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has reassigned several players to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) and their respective junior teams. The Rangers now have 34 active players remaining on their roster, including four goaltenders, 12 defensemen and 18 forwards. New York begins the exhibition schedule Saturday, September 21 when they travel to Montreal to face the Canadiens. The Rangers play host to the Philadelphia Flyers in their first home game of the 2002 exhibition schedule on Sunday, September 22.

Players Remaining with the New York Rangers (NHL):
Goaltenders: Dan Blackburn, Johan Holmqvist, Jason LaBarbera and Mike Richter.
Defense: Dave Karpa, Darius Kasparaitis, Tomas Kloucek, Bryce Lampman, Brian Leetch, Sylvain Lefebvre, Richard Lintner, Vladimir Malakhov, Mike Mottau, Tom Poti, Dale Purinton and Fedor Tutin.
Forwards: Matthew Barnaby, Pavel Bure, Benoit Dusablon, Radek Dvorak, Rico Fata, Bobby Holik, David Inman, Eric Lindros, Jamie Lundmark, Roman Lyashenko, Sandy McCarthy, Mark Messier, Garth Murray, Rem Murray, Petr Nedved, Krzysztof Oliwa, Mikael Samuelsson and Dixon Ward.
