Team Notes

  • GOALS GALORE - The Rangers have tallied 253 goals this season, which is the most the team has recorded in one season since 2005-06 (257).
  • THIRD PERIOD TALLIES - By tallying a goal in the third period of today's game, the Rangers have registered 100 goals in the third period this season. New York has recorded at least 100 goals in any period for the first time since the 1996-97 season (108 goals in the second period), as well as 100 or more goals in the third period for the first time since 1995-96 (101).
  • KILL ZONE - The Rangers were 3-for-3 (5:31) on the penalty kill in today's contest. New York has not allowed a power play goal against in three of the last four games, dating back to Mar. 31 vs. Pittsburgh.
  • Henrik Lundqvist made 30 saves in today's game, including 26 saves over the final two periods of the contest. Lundqvist has made 30 or more saves in seven of his last 10 appearances and in 22 appearances this season. In those 22 appearances, Lundqvist has posted a 16-4-2 record, along with a 2.20 GAA, a .938 SV%, and 1 SO.
  • Mika Zibanejad tallied a goal, tied for the team-high with four shots on goal, and led the Rangers with eight faceoff wins in 19:18 of ice time. Zibanejad, who played with Ottawa for parts of five seasons (2011-12 - 2015-16), skated in his first game against the Senators in today's contest. Zibanejad has registered a goal/point in two of the last three games, and he has recorded seven points (three goals, four assists) in the last eight contests.
  • Chris Kreider notched an assist and recorded one hit in the contest. He added to his career-high in points (53) and tied his career-high in assists (25) in today's contest. Kreider also tallied 25 assists during the 2014-15 season.
  • Taylor Beck recorded one shot on goal while making his Rangers debut in today's contest. Beck is the 14th player who made his debut with the Rangers this season (along with Buchnevich, Clendening, Grabner, Holden, Jensen, Jooris, Kampfer, Nieves, Pirri, Puempel, Smith, Vesey, and Zibanejad; Note: Brandon Halverson dressed in a game with the Rangers for the first time in his career this season, but did not appear in a game).
  • Brady Skjei was credited with four hits while skating in a team-high, 22:21 of ice time in today's contest.
  • Kevin Hayes tied for the team-high with four shots on goal in today's contest. Hayes led the Rangers in points on the road in 2016-17 (30; 11 goals and 19 assists).
  • Tanner Glass led all skaters with five hits and recorded one shot on goal in 13:55 of ice time. He has registered 15 hits over the last three contests.
