  • Rick Nash recorded a power play goal and registered two shots on goal in 17:40 of ice time. Nash is tied for the team lead in power play goals this season (six). He has registered a point in seven of the last 16 games (three goals, four assists), and he ranks fourth on the Rangers in goals in 2016-17 (19). Nash is one goal away from recording 20 or more goals in a season for the 12th time in his 14-season NHL career.
  • Brady Skjei registered a power play assist, recorded two shots on goal, and was credited with two hits in 20:02 of ice time. Skjei tallied his 30th assist of the 2016-17 season in tonight's contest. He is the fourth Rangers defenseman who has recorded at least 30 assists in his rookie season in franchise history, joining Brian Leetch (48 - 1988-89), Reijo Ruotsalainen (38 - 1981-82), and Ron Greschner (37 - 1974-75) as the only defensemen to accomplish the feat. In addition, Skjei is the first Ranger (forward or defenseman) who has tallied at least 30 assists in his rookie season since Tony Amonte in 1991-92. He has notched 17 points (three goals, 14 assists) in the last 28 games, including nine points (two goals, seven assists) in the last 17 contests.
  • Pavel Buchnevich tallied an assist, recorded two shots on goal, and posted a plus-one rating. He has notched an assist/point in each of the last two games (two assists). In addition, Buchnevich has recorded an assist/point in three of his last four games (three assists), and he has registered five points (two goals, three assists) in his last nine contests.
  • Ryan McDonagh recorded an assist in 21:40 of ice time. McDonagh leads Rangers defensemen in assists (34) and points (39) in 2016-17, and he is one point away from posting the second 40-point season of his NHL career (2013-14; 43).

Hayes tallied his 30th assist of the season in tonight's contest, and he has reached the 30-assist plateau for the first time in his NHL career. In addition, Hayes added to his career-high in points this season (47). He leads the Rangers in points on the road in 2016-17 (28; 11 goals, 17 assists). Since the start of Hayes' NHL career, 105 of his 128 career points have either been a goal or the primary assist on a goal (57 of his 80 career assists have been primary assists). The Rangers have posted a 29-2-1 record in games which he has registered a point this season.
  • Alain Vigneaultcoached his 319th career game as the Rangers' Head Coach in tonight's contest, tying John Tortorella for fifth place on the franchise's all-time games coached list. The only head coaches who coached more games with the Rangers than Vigneault are Emile Francis (654), Lester Patrick (604), Frank Boucher (527), and Tom Renney (327).
