Rangers Assign Wilson to Hartford (AHL); Bure Activated

Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Mike Wilson has been assigned to Hartford of the American Hockey League this afternoon to make room for Pavel Bure's return to the Blueshirt roster. Bure is expected to play tonight in Ottawa.
Wilson was acquired by the Rangers on February 10 from the Pittsburgh Penguins along with Alexei Kovalev, Dan LaCouture and Janne Laukkanen. Prior to his arrival in New York, he skated in 45 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), registering four goals and five assists for nine points, along with 89 penalty minutes.
The 6-6, 229-pound native of Brampton, Ontario has appeared in 335 career NHL matches with the Penguins, Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers, registering 16 goals and 41 assists for 57 points, along with 264 penalty minutes.
