New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has assigned left wing Richard Scott to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Rangers now have 24 active players remaining on their roster, including three goaltenders, eight defensemen and 13 forwards. The Rangers will open the 2001-2002 regular season when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday, October 5.

Defense: Bryan Berard, Dave Karpa, Tomas Kloucek*, Brian Leetch, Sylvain Lefebvre*, Vladimir Malakhov, Dale Purinton, Peter Smrek, Igor Ulanov and Darren Van Impe.
Forwards: Zdeno Ciger, Radek Dvorak, Theoren Fleury, Kyle Freadrich*, Michal Grosek, Barrett Heisten, Andreas Johansson, Eric Lindros, Manny Malhotra, Sandy McCarthy, Steve McKenna, Mark Messier, Petr Nedved and Mike York.

The Wolf Pack also announced today that they have assigned center Benoit Dusablon and right wing Troy Stonier to Charlotte of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).
