New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today the team's roster for the 2014 Traverse City Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. The Blueshirts are making their eighth consecutive appearance in the eight-team tournament. The Rangers' prospects begin the tournament on Friday, September 12 with a matchup against the Dallas Stars' prospects.

New York's roster features 23 prospects, including 2014 draft picks Brandon Halverson, Keegan Iverson, Ryan Mantha, Richard Nejezchleb, and Daniel Walcott. Six prospects on the roster played for one of the Rangers' minor league affiliates during the 2013-14 season, while eight also represented the Blueshirts during the 2013 Traverse City Prospects Tournament.

Twenty players on the roster also participated in the Rangers' annual Prospect Development Camp during the first week of July, including 2013 draft picks Adam Tambellini, Anthony Duclair, and Mackenzie Skapski. Three prospects - Duclair, Halverson, and Iverson - participated in evaluation camps for their respective countries earlier this summer in advance of the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The Rangers will be competing in the "Ted Lindsay Division", and face-off against Dallas, Buffalo, and Carolina in round-robin play. Following the Blueshirts' first game on September 12, the team will play the Sabres' prospects on Saturday, September 13, and the Hurricanes' prospects on Monday, September 15. The Rangers' placement following the round-robin games will determine who they will play in the placement game.

In the seven years the Rangers' prospects have participated in the Traverse City Tournament, they have reached the Championship Game twice, and won the tournament in 2007. Current Blueshirts Ryan McDonagh, Derek Stepan, Marc Staal, and Carl Hagelin all represented the team at the tournament in recent years.
