New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has agreed to terms with right wing Dixon Ward
. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ward, 34, has appeared in three pre-season games with New York, collecting one goal and one assist for two points, along with two penalty minutes. Last season, he skated in 23 contests with SC Langnau of the Swiss National League, tallying eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points, along with 38 penalty minutes.
The 6-0, 200-pounder has skated in 529 career NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings, Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins, registering 95 goals and 129 assists for 224 points, along with 429 penalty minutes.
The Leduc, Alberta native was originally selected by Vancouver with their sixth choice, 128th overall, in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.
