Rangers Acquire Third Round Pick in 2014 Draft

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has acquired a third round pick (the 85th overall selection) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from Vancouver in exchange for forward Derek Dorsett.

The Rangers now have five picks in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft: one in the second round (59th overall), two in the third round (85th overall and 89th overall), one in the fourth round (119th overall), and one in the fifth round (122nd overall).

Dorsett, 27, registered four goals and four assists for eight points, along with 128 penalty minutes in 51 games this past season. The Kindersley, Saskatchewan native was originally acquired from Columbus with Derick Brassard, John Moore, and a sixth round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Marian Gaborik, Blake Parlett, and Steven Delisle on April 3, 2013.
