Rangers Acquire Left Wing Ryan Tobler from Nashville

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has acquired left wing Ryan Tobler from the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Bert Robertsson.
The 6-3, 222-pounder has spent the last two seasons with the Milwaukee Admirals of the International Hockey League (IHL), registering seven goals and nine assists for 16 points, along with 196 penalty minutes in 49 matches this season. Last season, he ranked first on the Admirals and third in the IHL with 293 penalty minutes, while also ranking third on the team with 47 points (19 goals and 28 assists). Tobler (TOHB-lur), 24, was originally signed by Nashville as a free agent on May 1, 2000.
Robertsson appeared in two matches with New York after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets on November 9, 2000 in exchange for Jean-Francois Labbe. He also spent 27 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL), tallying seven goals and five assists, along with 27 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating.
