Rangers-Avalanche Game Preview

Vinny Prospal
New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Vinny Prospal underwent successful surgery on his knee this morning.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Andrew Feldman at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York.  Prospal will be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

The Rangers return to action tonight against the Colorado Avalanche at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in the Blueshirts’ first contest vs. a Western Conference opponent this season. New York has won each of its last two meetings with Colorado, out-scoring the Avalanche 9-2 over the span.

The game will be televised nationally on Versus and can be heard on AM 970 The Apple.
