Prospect Update 10.20.16: Halverson Picks Up Shutout

2014 Second-Round Pick Makes 27 Saves for First Professional Win

Starting things off today in Greenville with goaltender Brandon Halverson.

The 2014 second-round pick secured his first professional win - and shutout - Wednesday night with a 27-save performance in the Swamp Rabbits' victory over Norfolk in the ECHL. Halverson is 1-1 with a 1.51 goals against average and a .951 save percentage through two games this season.

Defenseman Troy Donnay picked up his first assist of the season.

Over in the Western Hockey League, forward Ty Ronning picked up an assist in Vancouver's 3-1 loss to Saskatoon. The assist extended the 2016 seventh-round pick's point streak to three. He has a goal and three assists in that span. Ronning leads the Giants with six assists and is tied for second in points with 10.

Forward Daniel Bernhardt made his season debut with VIKA Vasteras HK of Allsvenskan, Sweden's second-highest league, and was held scoreless. He had previously had one assist in four games with Djurgardens of the SHL.

Goaltender Adam Huska made 33 saves for UConn in a 5-2 loss to Quinnipiac Wednesday night. The 2015 seventh-round pick is 0-1-1 with a 2.88 GAA and a .925 save percentage through two games with the Huskies this season.
