Defenseman Tom Poti
registered new career-highs for goals and assists in one game on consecutive nights - Thursday in Atlanta and Friday at Dallas. On Thursday, he improved upon his previous high of two assists in a game with a three-assist effort against the Thrashers. He then followed up that performance the next night in Dallas vs. the Stars with a two-goal game to help the Rangers gain a 3-3 tie. He has now matched a career-high six-game point scoring streak, having tallied nine points over the span (four goals, five assists).
Poti is also on pace for a career season this year. In 27 games thus far, he has registered five goals and 18 assists for 23 points. The defenseman is now just eight assists shy of his career-best for assists in one season (26 - 1999-00) and 12 points shy of his career-high for points in one season (35 -1999-00).
