POST-GAME NOTES: Rangers 3, Boston Bruins 4 (SO)

The front end of the Rangers' home-and-home series vs. Bruins was a nail-biter on Saturday afternoon in Boston, going all the way to a shootout before big Zdeno Chara delivered a 4-3 win for the Bruins. The teams meet again on Sunday at MSG.

NOTES

* Scott Gomez scored the Rangers' first goal at 6:36 of the opening period, which was the team's first goal scored against Boston this season after 71:36. The Rangers previously lost a 1-0 shootout decision to the Bruins on Oct. 20.

* Jaromir Jagr’s assist on Gomez’s goal was the 935th of his career, placing him in sole possession of 13th place on the all-time NHL list, one ahead of Hall-of-Famer Al MacInnis.

* Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist finished the game with a season-high 36 saves.
