You couldn't ask for more impressive performances than those turned in by Rangers rookie forward Nigel Dawes and goalie Henrik Lundqvist
on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. Dawes scored a pair of pretty goals, and Lundqvist was his usual self with 22 saves, as the Rangers began a six-game homestand on the best possible note -- shutting out the New Jersey Devils 2-0.

* Nigel Dawes notched two goals to post the first multi-goal game of his career and first by a Ranger this season, He also dished out a season-high six hits and tied for a game-high five shots on goal in 15:27 of icetime.
* Henrik Lundqvist
stopped all 22 shots he faced to record his second shutout of the season and ninth of his career. He extended his season-high shutout streak to 99:16, dating back to the second period of Tuesday’s game at Pittsburgh.
* Brandon Dubinsky
registered his first career NHL point with an assist on Dawes’ power play goal at 16:07 of the third period. He also won five of seven faceoffs (71%).
* Brendan Shanahan collected an assist on Dawes' first-period goal and fired four shots on goal to extend his league-leading total to 54 shots.
* Petr Prucha recorded his first assist of the season, on the power play, at 16:07 of the third period.
* Dan Girardi
logged a season-high 23:11 of icetime and added three blocked shots. Both were also team-highs.
