NYR Prospects in Postseason: April 9 Recap

Two Rangers prospects competed in postseason play on Sunday in the OHL and WHL playoffs. Here is a player-by-player look at their performances:

Team: Barrie Colts (OHL)
Playoff Series: Barrie vs. Brampton (Barrie leads series 2-1)

April 9: Barrie 6, Brampton 1 (at Brampton)

Petruzalek continued his high-scoring ways, picking up three power-play assists in the Colts' rout of Brampton. He began his big night with the first assist on Travis Fuller's goal at 9:13 of the first period, giving the Colts a 1-0 lead. At 13:44 of the first, he had the lone assist on Ryan Hamilton's eventual game-winner, which put Barrie up 2-1. Finally, he had the first assist on Hamilton's goal at 12:49 of the third period, which closed out the scoring and completed the hat trick for Hamilton.

April 9: Moose Jaw 3, Calgary 2 (OT) (at Calgary)

Dupont did everything he could to get a win for the Hitmen, scoring a goal and assisting on the other Calgary tally before the Warriors went on to win the game in overtime. Dupont gave Calgary a 1-0 lead on a power play at 11:26 of the first period and later had the second assist on Ryan White's game0tying goal at 7:34 of the third period. That goal forced overtime, where Blair Jones won it for Moose Jaw with a goal just 87 seconds into the extra session.
