NYR Prospects in Postseason: April 21 Recap

Two Rangers prospects competed in postseason play on Friday in the OHL and WHL playoffs. Here is a player-by-player look at their performances:


CallahanRyan Callahan
Position: Right Wing
Team: Guelph Storm (OHL)
Playoff Series: Guelph vs. London (series tied 1-1)
Callahan's Playoff Scoring to Date: 10 games, 7 goals, 15 assists
April 21: Guelph 7, London 1 (at Guelph)

Callahan erupted for a four-point night to lead the Storm to a 7-1 rout of London. With the win, Guelph evened the Western Conference Finals series at one game apiece. Callahan began his big night with the lone assist on Matt D'Agostini's shorthanded goal at 16:02 of the first, giving Guelph a 1-0 lead. He then picked up three second-period assists, beginning with the second assist on Kyle Wharton's power-play goal at 4:35 that gave the Storm a 2-0 lead. He also had a second assist on a power-play goal by Kelsey Wilson at the 5:53 mark, putting Guelph up 3-0. The Storm then took a 4-0 lead when Callahan got the primary assist on a Wilson goal at 9:22. With 22 points, Callahan is just two behind D'Agostini for the team scoring lead. He is also a plus-11 in 10 playoff games.

April 21: Moose Jaw 3, Medicine Hat 2 (at Medicine Hat)

After taking an early 2-0 lead, Psurny and the Tigers suffered their first playoff loss. Moose Jaw scored twice in the third period for the comeback win. Psurny did not record a point, as the Warriors went ahead 1-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals.
