NYR Prospects in Postseason: April 16 Recap

Three Rangers prospects competed in postseason play on Sunday in the WHL playoffs. Here is a player-by-player look at their performances:


DupontBrodie Dupont
Position: Center
Team: Calgary Hitmen (WHL)
Playoff Series: Calgary vs. Moose Jaw (series tied 3-3)
Dupont's Playoff Scoring to Date: 12 games, 4 goals, 5 assists
April 16:Moose Jaw 3, Calgary 1 (at Moose Jaw)

Dupont did not crack the scoresheet in the Hitmen's Game 6 loss, although he was did have two penalty minutes in the game. The Warriors victory forced a Game 7 to be played on Wednesday night in Calgary. The game will determine the final member of the WHL's final four.

DubinskyBrandon Dubinsky
Position: Center
Team: Portland Winter Hawks (WHL)
Playoff Series: Portland vs. Vancouver (Vancouver wins series 4-1)
Dubinsky's Playoff Scoring to Date: 12 games, 5 goals, 10 assists
April 16: Vancouver 2, Portland 0 (at Vancouver)

Dubinsky was shut down in the final game of the series, as the Giants scored early in the second period and late in the third to advance to the league's semifinals. Dubinsky finished the playoffs as Portland's leading scorer.

SauerMichael Sauer
Position: Defense
Team: Portland Winter Hawks (WHL)
Playoff Series: Portland vs. Vancouver (Vancouver wins series 4-1)
Sauer's Playoff Scoring to Date: 12 games, 4 goals, 2 assists
April 16: Vancouver 2, Portland 0 (at Vancouver)

Sauer did not register a point, as the Winter Hawks were eliminated from the playoffs. He led all Portland defenseman in postseason scoring with four goals and six points.
