NYR Prospects in Postseason: April 11 Recap

Five Rangers prospects competed in postseason play on Tuesday in the OHL and WHL playoffs. Here is a player-by-player look at their performances:

PetruzalekJakub Petruzalek
Position: Left Wing
Team: Barrie Colts (OHL)
Playoff Series: Barrie vs. Brampton (Barrie leads series 3-1)
Petruzalek's Playoff Scoring to Date: 8 games, 5 goals, 10 assists
April 11: Barrie 11, Brampton 2 (at Barrie)

Petruzalek had another three-point night as the Colts crushed Brampton at home to take a commanding lead in the series. Petruzalek scored the eventual game-winning goal on a power-play at 15:35 of the first to make it 3-1. He later had the second assist on Ryan Hamilton's goal at 17:35 of the second period, giving Barrie an 8-1 lead, and the second assist on Chris Morrison's goal at 17:21 of the third, which closed out the scoring.

April 11: Peterborough 4, Sudbury 3 (OT) (at Sudbury)

Staal's Sudbury team was eliminated from the OHL playoffs, as the Wolves were swept by the Petes. Staal contributed one point in the loss, picking up the primary assist on Kyle Hope's goal at 4:10 of the second, which cut the Petes' lead to 2-1. Sudbury came back to tie the game, but Peterborough's Patrick Kaleta won it with a goal at 11:58 of overtime.

Team: Calgary Hitmen (WHL)
Playoff Series: Calgary vs. Moose Jaw (Moose Jaw leads series 2-1)
Dupont's Playoff Scoring to Date: 9 games, 4 goals, 5 assists
April 11: Moose Jaw 4, Calgary 2 (at Moose Jaw)

Dupont had the lone assist on Hitmen teammate Ryan White's goal at 9:34 of the third period, putting Calgary up 2-1. But the Warriors stormed back with three goals in the final 7:18 of the third to take the series lead.

Team: Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL)
Playoff Series: Medicine Hat vs. Saskatoon (Medicine Hat leads series 3-0)
Psurny's Playoff Scoring to Date: 7 games, 3 goals, 7 assists
April 11: Medicine Hat 3, Saskatoon 2 (OT) (at Saskatoon)

Psurny did not record a point, but his Tigers team won its second straight overtime game to move within one victory of the WHL's final four.

Bahensky was held scoreless as his Blades team lost on a goal by Medicine Hat's Brennan Bosch at 14:17 of overtime.
