NYR Prospects in Postseason: April 10 Recap

Three Rangers prospects competed in postseason play on Monday in the OHL playoffs. Here is a player-by-player look at their performances:

CallahanRyan Callahan
Position: Right Wing
Team: Guelph Storm (OHL)
Playoff Series: Guelph vs. Plymouth (Guelph leads series 3-0)
Callahan's Playoff Scoring to Date: 5 games, 5 goals, 8 assists
April 10: Guelph 8, Plymouth 0 (at Plymouth)

Callahan turned in a remarkable five-point performance in Guelph's 8-0 rout. He had two goals and three assists for his best effort of the playoffs to date. After a scoreless first period, Callahan began his big night with the second assist on Ryan Pottruff's goal at 4:51 of the second period, giving the Storm a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later at 6:54, Callahan netted the first of his two goals, and three minutes after that, he had a second assist on Mark O'Leary's goal at 9:51 of the second, putting the Storm up 3-0. Callahan also had the lone assist on Jamie Arniel's power-play goal at 9:31 of the third, stretching the lead to 5-0 and wrapped up his night with a power-play goal of his own at 10:55 of the third, as the Storm went up 6-0.

April 10: Peterborough 4, Sudbury 2 (at Sudbury)

The Wolves moved within one game of playoff elimination, as Staal picked up one assist in the 4-2 loss at home. He had a second assist on Matt Dias' goal 45 seconds into the third period, which cut the Petes' lead to 3-2. Sudbury will play for its playoff survival at home in Game 4 on Tuesday night at 7:30.

Team: Owen Sound Attack (OHL)
Playoff Series: Owen Sound vs. London (Owen Sound leads series 2-1)
Koverko's Playoff Scoring to Date: 8 games, 0 goals, 0 assists
April 10: Owen Sound 4, London 2 (at London)

Koverko was held without a point for the eighth consecutive playoff game. He had six penalty minutes as the Attack won their second straight to take the lead in their second-round series.
