New York Rangers President, General Manager and Head Coach Glen Sather announced today that defensemen Lawrence Nycholat (right) and Fedor Tyutin have been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Nycholat, 24, has appeared in 50 games with the Wolf Pack this season, recording three goals and 16 assists for 19 points, along with 44 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating. Among Hartford blueliners, he ranks first in assists (16) and points (19) and is tied for first in goals (three) and plus/minus rating (plus-10). Nycholat has skated in four games with the Rangers this season, posting two penalty minutes.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Nycholat was acquired by the Rangers from Minnesota on March 11, 2003 in exchange for goaltender Johan Holmqvist.
Tyutin, 20, has appeared in 38 games with Hartford this season, recording three goals and nine assists for 12 points, along with 77 penalty minutes and a plus-seven rating. Among Wolf pack defensemen, he is tied for first in goals (three) and second in assists (nine) and points (12).
A native of Izhevsk, Russia, Tyutin was the Rangers second round choice, 40th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
