Novak and Murray Assigned to Regina (WHL)

The New York Rangers announced today that defenseman Filip Novak and forward Garth Murray have been assigned to the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League.

Novak, 19, appeared in 64 games with regina last season, tying for first on the team with 50 assists and ranking fourth on the Pats with 67 points. The native of Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic was the Rangers' second round selection, 64th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Murray, 19, appeared in 79 games last season with Regina, registering 28 goals and 16 assists for 44 points, along with 183 penalty minutes. The native of Regina, Saskatchewan was the Rangers' third round selection, 79th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
