NHL suspends Hollweg for three games

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
The NHL announced on Thursday that Rangers forward Ryan Hollweg has been suspended for three games as a result of being assessed a game misconduct during Wednesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Hollweg will forfeit $7,515.30, which will go to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

Hollweg received a major penalty for checking from behind and a game misconduct for a hit on Philadelphia player R.J. Umberger at 16:43 of the first period.

Hollweg will miss Friday's game at Florida, Saturday's game at Tampa Bay and Monday's game against Buffalo. He will be eligible to return March 29, when the Rangers face the Islanders in Uniondale.
