In between off-season workouts, Rangers forward Christopher Higgins visited children from Schneider Children's Hospital on Long Island. The September 1 visit was the first community appearance for Higgins and the first event at Schneider Children's Hospital, a new partner of the Garden of Dreams Foundation.

Higgins spread joy throughout the hospital, visiting a group of young patients in a community room before visiting patients room-to-room. Higgins answered questions, signed autographs, posed for pictures and handed out Rangers gift bags.
"This was the first community appearance I've made as a Ranger," said Higgins, "and I don?t think it could have been a better spot. I love making the hospital visits, but this is home. I can't tell you how much it means to me."
