#6 Alaska-Fairbanks vs #1 Michigan (Al Montoya)

. The #4 nationally ranked Michigan Wolverines are playing in the CCHA Semifinals for the 16th consecutive season
. Michigan has won both meetings with UAF in the post-season, and swept the 2004-'05 season series, beating UAF 5-2 both times.
. Michigan is 27-0-1 this season when scoring three or more goals.
. Montoya's shutout of Notre Dame last Saturday was his third career playoff shutout, and his 13th overall shutout, leaving him just two behind Marty Turco's Michigan record of 15.
. Montoya turned aside 54 of 58 shots in a pair of wins against UAF this season while compiling a GAA of 2.00 and a Save % of .931.
. In his first two playoff games of 2004-05, Montoya is 2-0 with a GAA of 0.50, a Save % of .967, and a shutout

. Ohio State, ranked #7/8 in the nation makes its fourth straight appearance at "The Joe" in the CCHA's Super Six.
. Michigan State has taken six of seven playoff meetings from Ohio State, with OSU's lone win coming in overtime of the NCAA West Regional Championship, sending the Buckeyes to the 1998 Frozen Four.
. During the 2004-05 regular season, the teams split their series, with Michigan State's win breaking OSU's 10-game win streak.
. Both Potter and Guenin each registered an assist against each other during their series.
. Potter has notched three assists for three points, with six penalty minutes in three playoff games this year, including a two-point performance (0-2-2) in Thursday night's 4-0 victory over Nebraska-Omaha in the Semifinals.
. Guenin has recorded one assist along with eight penalty minutes for Ohio State in three playoff games so far.

#3 Colgate @ #2 Harvard (Rob Flynn, Dylan Reese)

. Harvard is in search of its second straight ECACHL title and third in four seasons. No Crimson team has ever won back-to-back crowns.
. Harvard swept its Quarterfinals series for the fifth consecutive season with two wins over St. Lawrence. The sweep also marked Harvard's 13th straight home playoff win.
. Colgate defeated Harvard twice this season. The series sweep was the first for Colgate over the Crimson since the 1998-99 season.
. This just the second meeting between the two squads on neutral ice. The last time they met was in the consolation game of the Bank One Badger Showdown in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Harvard won the game 8-1.
. Harvard goalie Dov Grumet-Morris is the winner of the 53rd Walter Brown Award, the nation's oldest college hockey honor, presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England

NOTE: This will be the seventh time in the 21-year history of the league that the top four seeds have faced off in the Hockey East semifinals, but this is the first time since 2002. This will be just the third time that BC, BU, Maine and UNH have comprised the semifinal field, with the first occurrence coming in 1990 (BC won the title) and the last coming in 2000 (Maine won the title). Both of those years featured BC vs. UNH and BU vs. Maine in the semifinals.

. This game will mark the 16th time Maine has played in the semifinals, the most in Hockey East.
. This marks only the second time the Black Bears have finished fourth. The other fourth place finish was in the 1999-2000 season in which Maine won the Hockey East Tournament Championship over Boston College.
. The Black Bears have played in fourteen games at the Fleet Center, twelve of which were Hockey East Tournament games. In those games Maine is 7-5, with three of the losses in the Championship game. Last season Maine played two games in the NCAA Frozen Four at the FleetCenter, defeating Boston College 2-1 in the first game before falling 1-0 to Denver in the National Championship game.
. Maine is currently 20-11-7 on the season (13-6-5 in Hockey East, fourth) and are ranked 12th in both the USAToday/USA Hockey Magazine and the USCHO/CSTV polls.
. Boston College has a 23-6-7 overall record (14-3-7 in Hockey East, first). The Eagles are currently ranked fourth in the USAToday/USA Hockey Magazine poll and the USCHO/CSTV poll.
. Maine junior forward Greg Moore has 23 points on a team-high 14 goals and nine assists. He also leads the club with 10 power play goals and two game-winning goals.
. Black Bears freshman forward Billy Ryan has netted six goals and nine assists for 15 points on the season.
. This marks only the second time the Black Bears have finished fourth. The other fourth place finish was in the 1999-2000 season in which Maine won the Hockey East Tournament Championship over Boston College.
. Maine is 0-2-1 vs. BC this season. BC is 11-1-5 overall at home in 2004-05.

. Last meeting in the Hockey East Tournament was March 15, 2003 at the Fleet Center. The Wildcats defeated the Terriers, 1-0, in OT. That marked the first time UNH beat BU in the Hockey East Tournament.
. At the Fleet Center this season, Boston University is 2-0, with wins over Boston College and Northeastern in the Beanpot Tournament.

. The Golden Gophers hold a 148-78-7 (.650) all-time record against the Tigers in the series dating back to 1947.
. CC has posted a 1-3-0 record against Minnesota in 2004-05.
. The two teams have each scored 13 goals in the meetings this season. UM is 5-4-0 (.556) in neutral site games vs. CC.
. In nine of the last 10 meetings, the team that has scored three goals has won. Minnesota is 23 -5-1 all-time vs. Colorado College in the post-season, including a 4-1-0 record in the last five playoff meetings.
. UM has not lost to CC in the post-season since falling 5-4 in the 2001 WCHA Final Five Third-Place game.
. In the last post-season meeting, Minnesota downed the Tigers, 4-2, to capture the 2003 WCHA Final Five title.
