by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

MSG Network has announced that recently-retired goaltender Martin Biron will join its New York Rangers game telecasts as a studio analyst for select games this season. Biron will make his first appearance on Tuesday, November 12 during pregame, intermission and postgame coverage when the Rangers host the New Jersey Devils at Madison Square Garden starting at 6:30 p.m.

MSG Network also recently brought former Rangers player Anson Carter on board for studio work. Carter and Biron join veteran analyst Ron Duguay, along with hosts Al Trautwig and Bill Pidto, on MSG Network’s Rangers studio team. The two will also make select appearances on the network’s weekly comprehensive hockey show “Hockey Night Live.”

Biron announced his retirement on October 20 after 16 years in the NHL. In 508 career games played with the Rangers, Sabres, Islanders and Flyers, Biron finished with 230 wins, a 2.61 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage and 28 shutouts.

Carter played for eight teams, including the Rangers, during his 12-year professional career. He scored 202 goals and tallied 219 assists in the NHL, as well as eight goals and five assists in 24 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
