Messier Night a big hit with television viewers

The MSG Network has announced that Thursday night's Rangers game rating was the highest rating the Rangers have seen since March 2002. The game delivered a 1.52 HH RTG (combination of the Messier ceremony and game) with a quarter-hour high of 2.79 (7:30 PM).

The Messier Retirement Ceremony delivered a 2.38 HH RTG and there was an average 1.05 HH RTG during the Rangers vs. Oilers game. Rangers Gamenight averaged a 1.27 HH RTG, which is its highest rating since November 1997 (other than the Richter Retirement Ceremony in 2004).

SportsDesk after the Rangers game delivered a 0.58 HH RTG, the highest post-Rangers SportsDesk this season. In total, MSG's average household rating from 6:00pm - 12:00am was a 1.25, with a rating well above 2.0 in between 7:15 and 8:30.
