University of New Hampshire forward Nathan Martz was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team after helping to lead his school to the NCAA Frozen Four championship game. New Hampshire lost to the University of Minnesota, who repeated as national champions with a 5-1 win over the Wildcats tonight in Buffalo, New York.
The 6-2, 185-pound junior ranked seventh on New Hampshire with 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists) in 42 games this season, as UNH ended its season with a 28-8-6 record, tying the third-highest win total in the program's history.
The native of Chilliwack, British Columbia was New York's fourth pick (fifth round - 140th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
Joining Martz on the All-Tournament Team were Thomas Vanek (F-Minnesota), Steve Saviano (F-New Hampshire), Paul Martin (D-Minnesota), Matt DeMarchi (D-Minnesota), and Travis Weber (G-Minnesota).
