The New York Rangers announced today that defenseman Martin Richter
has been reassigned to Sparta Praha of the Czech Elite League. Richter appeared in 29 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) this season, collecting one goal and one assist, along with 36 penalty minutes. He has missed the last 11 games due to a concussion.
The Prostejov, Czech Republic native spent most of the 2000-01 season with SaiPa Lapeenranta of the Finnish Elite League, where he tallied four goals and five assists in 41 games. He ranked second on the club with 80 penaltry minutes. The 6-0, 200-pounder made his North American professional debut with the Wolf Pack on October 13, 2000 vs. the Providence Bruins.
