Lundqvist NHL's No. 3 star of the week

Ranger goaltender Henrik Lundqvist's strong week did not go unnoticed by the National Hockey League, as Lundqvist was honored as the NHL's Third Star of the Week on Monday.

Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin and St. Louis Blues goaltender Brian Elliott were the No. 1 and No. 2 stars of the week ending April 7.

Here is a look at Lundqvist's accomplishment in the past week:

Lundqvist started all four games for the Rangers, posting a 3-0-1 record with a 1.22 goals-against average and .962 save percentage. He made 26 saves in a 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets April 1 and another 26 stops in a 6-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins April 3. Lundqvist played in his 500th NHL game April 5, recording 26 saves, plus another two in the shootout, in a 2-1 loss to the Penguins. He then made a season-high 48 stops in a 4-1 triumph at the Carolina Hurricanes April 6. The 31-year-old Are, Sweden, native has a 17-13-3 record in 33 appearances this season and ranks second in the League with a .928 save percentage and sixth with a 2.07 goals-against average.
