The Tampa Bay Lightning claimed defenseman Janne Laukkanen
off waivers from the Rangers today.
Laukkanen, 32, recorded three assists and a +4 rating in five games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) since being acquired by the Blueshirts from Pittsburgh on February 10. He appeared in 17 games with the Penguins prior to injuring his hip in December, posting one goal and six assists.
The 6-1, 196-pound native of Lahti, Finland has appeared in 405 career NHL matches with Quebec, Colorado, Ottawa and Pittsburgh, collecting 21 goals and 99 assists for 120 points, along with 335 penalty minutes.
