Rangers captain Brian Leetch was re-examined today by team physician and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Bart Nisonson in New York. Leetch’s short-arm cast was removed and his arm was placed in a protective splint. He will continue his rehabilitation and off-ice conditioning program and will be re-examined by Dr. Nisonson in one week. At that time, he is expected to resume shooting and passing the puck. Leetch is expected to be sidelined for approximately two more weeks.
Leetch tallied two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 22 contests with New York this season, before suffering a fractured right forearm on November 24 at Tampa Bay.
