LaCouture Sidelined; Scott Recalled from Hartford (AHL)
/ New York Rangers
Rangers President, General Manager and Head Coach Glen Sather announced today that forward Dan LaCouture has been placed on the Injured Reserve list with a shoulder separation retroactive to last night's game vs. Ottawa.
LaCouture, 26, has notched one goal and 31 penalty minutes in 19 games with the Rangers this season. He is expected to be sidelined for one week.
To fill LaCouture's spot on the 23-man roster, left winger Richard Scott (right) has been recalled from Hartford of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Scott, 25, has tallied two goals and two assists for four points in 15 games with the Wolf Pack this season. His 79 penalty minutes leads the club. Scott has appeared in five career NHL matches with New York, all during the 2001-02 season.
The 6-2, 205-pound native of Hawkestone, Ontario was signed by the Rangers as a free agent on May 8, 2001.
In another roster move, goaltender Phil Osaer, who was signed by New York yesterday and served as Jussi Markkanen's back-up in last night's 6-2 win over Ottawa, was reassigned to Hartford (AHL).
Osaer posted a 2-3-1 record and two shutouts, along with a 1.70 goals against average and .931 save percentage in six matches with the Wolf Pack prior to his recall.
