New York Rangers President, General Manager and Head Coach Glen Sather announced today that goaltender Jason LaBarbera has been reassigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). He served as a back-up to Jussi Markkanen in New York's last two games vs. Ottawa and Florida after being recalled on Friday.
LaBarbera, 24, has appeared in 33 games with the Wolf Pack this season, posting a record of 17-6-5, along with a 1.46 goals against average and a .936 save percentage. He has also posted a league-high eight shotouts.
The 6-3, 224-pound goaltender made his first NHL start this season with New York on November 20 at Colorado.
A native of Prince George, British Columbia, LaBarbera was the Rangers third round choice, 66th overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
