The New York Knickerbockers and New York Rangers will host "Garden of Dreams Night" to raise awareness of the Garden of Dreams Foundation and to help make dreams come true for area children in crisis.
|The Garden of Dreams Foundation has been creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences since its inception in 2006. |
On Sunday, November 16, Garden of Dreams and the Knicks will host children from several Garden of Dreams partner organizations including SCO Family of Services and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut. Children and their families will attend pregame shoot-around and watch the Knicks-Mavericks game from a catered suite. Children from these organizations also will have special opportunities throughout the night including participation in a Knicks "high-five line" during player introductions. One lucky child will serve as an honorary member of the Knicks City Dancers and personally select one of the KCD's performances that evening. Another very special child will participate in a ceremonial ball tip prior to the official tip.
Garden of Dreams will continue its awareness campaign at Madison Square Garden on Monday, November 17, at the Rangers-Senators game. Children from Loisaida and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey will attend pregame warm ups and watch the game from a catered suite. The children will have the opportunity to meet MSG broadcasters and Rangers alumni, while one child will participate in a ceremonial puck drop prior to the game. In addition, fans that attend the game can help keep New York's children warm this winter by participating in the Rangers and Garden of Dreams Annual Coat Drive. Those who bring new or gently-used children's coats to the game will receive a commemorative item. For more information on this year's coat drive, click here
Fans that attend either game are encouraged to visit Garden of Dreams informational tables to learn more about the Foundation and to receive a special commemorative item.
Garden of Dreams is a non-profit organization that works closely with all areas of Madison Square Garden, including the Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, MSG Media, MSG Entertainment and Fuse to "make dreams come true for kids in crisis." Garden of Dreams partners with local children's hospitals, "wish" organizations and community-based organizations to build on-going, unforgettable programs for children in the tri-state area who are suffering from devastating illness, homelessness, abuse, hunger, extreme poverty and tragedy.
