New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Darius Kasparaitis will undergo arthroscopic surgery on Wednesday, March 24 to perform a re-section of his right clavicle. The surgery will be performed by team physicians Dr. Andrew Feldman and Dr. Tony Maddalo at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Following the procedure, Kasparaitis is expected to make a full recovery in time for next season’s training camp.
Kasparaitis, 31, has registered one goal and nine assists for 10 points, along with 48 penalty minutes in 44 games this season. He has been on the club’s injured reserve list since sustaining a left knee injury on January 19 at Boston, missing the last 30 games.
