Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Dave Karpa has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Karpa collected an assist on Hartford's lone goal in a 4-1 loss to the Lowell Lock Monsters at the Civic Center tonight. The defenseman also registered six shots on goal and a plus-one rating in his Wolf Pack debut.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native has appeared in 15 games with New York this season, collecting 14 penalty minutes and logging an average ice time of 14:39 per game.

A veteran of 553 NHL games, Karpa signed as a free agent with New York on July 1, 2001.
