Hartford Wolf Pack Update - March 22 to 29

The Hartford Wolf Pack posted a 1-0-1 record in a pair of road games last week and prepare for a four-game set this week, including three straight at home.

The Pack and Worcester Ice Cats skated to a 2-2 tie this past Friday behind Jeff Heerema's two goals and a 32-save performance from Jason LaBarbera.

On Sunday, Hartford skated past the Lowell Lock Monsters, 4-2, to improve to 3-2-2-0 in their last seven road matches. Chad Wiseman and Alexandre Giroux scored two goals apiece to lead the Pack and Jason LaBarbera made 21 saves as Hartford improved to 3-0-2 in its last three meetings with Lowell.

The Pack remain atop the Atlantic Division with 90 points, compiling a 38-20-12-2 mark in 72 games. Their 38 wins are tied for fourth in the AHL, while their .625 winning percentage ranks second in the league.

March 28, 2004 - Hartford Wolf Pack 4, Lowell Lock Monsters 2
Chad Wiseman and Alexandre Giroux scored two goals apiece to lead the Hartford Wolf Pack to a 4-2 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters. Wiseman gave Hartford a 2-1 lead on the power play with 1:31 left in the second period and scored a shorthanded marker 8:08 into the third to double the advantage. Giroux, who has notched four goals in nine games since joining the Wolf Pack, opened the scoring 1:57 into the second period and closed it with four seconds remaining. Jason LaBarbera made 21 saves to improve to 29-8-9 for Hartford, which has gone 3-0-2 in its last three meetings with Lowell. David Inman, who spent time with the Wolf Pack last season, scored both goals for the Lock Monsters, who own a three-point lead in the race for the fifth and final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division. Patrick DesRochers stopped 27 shots in defeat.

March 26, 2004 - Hartford Wolf Pack 2, Worcester Ice Cats 2
Aris Brimanis scored late in the third period to help the Worcester IceCats skate to a 2-2 tie with the Hartford Wolf Pack. Brimanis collected his second goal in 56 games this season with 2:49 remaining. Jame Pollock registered his fifth power-play goal of the season 8:40 into the second, tying the score at 1-1 for Worcester, which is undefeated over its last five games (4-0-1-0). Curtis Sanford had 24 saves for the IceCats. Jeff Heerema scored twice for Hartford, including his 10th goal of the season that supplied his team with a 2-1 lead with 8:02 left in the third. Jason LaBarbera had 32 saves, including seven in overtime, for the Wolf Pack, who are 2-2-2-0 over their last six road games.
