Game Notes: Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers

The Rangers face-off against the Philadelphia Flyers today at Madison Square Garden (12:30 p.m.), to close out their home-and-home set. The Blueshirts currently rank fourth in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 35-26-8, and seventh in the Eastern Conference with 78 points. The Rangers enter tonight's contest having been defeated by the Flyers, 4-2, yesterday at the Wachovia Center, and have won four of their last six games. The Blueshirts have posted a 6-2-2 record in their last 10 games at MSG. Following today's contest, the Rangers will travel to Montreal to face-off against the Canadiens on Tuesday, March 17 at Bell Centre (7:30 p.m.), in their fourth game in a six day span. The Flyers, 37-20-10, currently rank fourth in the Eastern Conference standings with 84 points, and have won three of their last four games.

The Wolf Pack (37-24-3-3, 80 pts.) are 10-1-1-0 in their last 12 games, after a 6-3 win on Saturday night at home over Eastern Conference-leading Bridgeport (Islanders affiliate).  The six goals matched the Pack’s highest output of the season, and it was Hartford’s fourth straight home win.  Ken Gernander’s club is currently tied for first place in the Atlantic Division with Providence (Boston affiliate), and finishes off a three-games-in-three-days stretch with a visit today (4:05) to Worcester (San Jose affiliate).  The Wolf Pack and the Sharks also tangled Friday night in Worcester, with the Wolf Pack pulling out a 4-2 win.
