Game Notes: Rangers at Toronto

Tonight's Game

The Rangers face-off against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight at Air Canada Centre (7:30 p.m.), in the second game of their home-and-home set. The Blueshirts currently rank third in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 31-23-7, and sixth in the Eastern Conference with 69 points. The Rangers enter tonight's contest having been defeated by the Maple Leafs, 3-2, in overtime on Sunday at Madison Square Garden, and have earned a point in four of their last seven games. Following tonight's contest, the Rangers will return home to face-off against the Florida Panthers, tomorrow, February 26, at Madison Square Garden (7:00 p.m.), in the second game of a back-to-back set. The Maple Leafs, 22-26-12, currently rank 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with 56 points, and have lost seven of their last 10 games. John Tortorella will make his season debut tonight with the New York Rangers after being named the 34th Head Coach in franchise history on Monday. Assistant General Manager, Player Personnel, Jim Schoenfeld will join Coach Tortorella behind the bench as the Interim Assistant Coach.
