Game Notes: Rangers at Pittsburgh Penguins

Tonight's Game

The Rangers face-off against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at Mellon Arena (7:00 p.m.) in an Atlantic Division matchup. The Blueshirts are currently in fifth place in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 21-19-5, and rank ninth in the Eastern Conference with 47 points. New York enters the contest having defeated the Canadiens, 4-1, on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden to snap a season-high, five-game losing streak. Following tonight's contest, the Rangers will return home to take on the Buffalo Sabres at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, January 16 (7:00 p.m.) in the teams' first meeting since facing each other in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in last season's Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Penguins, 25-16-3, are currently in second place in the Atlantic Division with 53 points and have won eight of their last nine games.
