The Rangers face-off against the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at the RBC Center (7:00 p.m.) in the first game of a four-game road trip. The Blueshirts are currently tied for fourth place in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 24-21-6, and rank ninth in the Eastern Conference with 54 points. New York enters the contest having defeated the Thrashers, 2-1, in a shootout on Thursday at Madison Square Garden and have now earned at least one point in five of their last seven contests (4-2-1). Prior to their match with Atlanta, the Blueshirts retired Brian Leetch's #2 to The Garden rafters in a pre-game ceremony, and announced that Adam Graves' #9 will join Ed Giacomin (#1), Rod Gilbert (#7), Mark Messier (#11), Mike Richter (#35) and Leetch as the sixth Rangers player to have their number retired. Following today's contest, the Rangers will travel to Philadelphia on Thursday, January 31, to take on the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wachovia Center (7:00 p.m.).
