Game Notes: Rangers at Buffalo Sabres

Tonight's Game

The Rangers face-off against the Buffalo Sabres today at the HSBC Arena (7:00 p.m.) in the second game of a back-to-back set. The Blueshirts are currently in third place in the Atlantic Division standings with a record of 36-24-9, and rank sixth in the Eastern Conference with 81 points. New York enters the contest having defeated the Bruins, 1-0, in a shootout yesterday at Madison Square Garden and have now earned at least one point in 12 straight contests (9-0-3). The Rangers are 14-3-3 in their last 20 contests dating back to a 4-0 win on January 22 vs. Atlanta. Following today's match, the Rangers will travel to Florida to face-off against the Panthers on Friday, March 14, at the BankAtlantic Center (7:30 p.m.) in the first game of a back-to-back road set. The Sabres, 32-27-10, are currently in fourth place in the Northeast Division standings with 74 points and have lost six of their last eight games. Tonight's game will mark the fourth and final meeting this season.
