The Rangers welcomed 13 Blueshirt hopefuls to the Madison Square Garden Training Center this morning as the club will hold hold a three-day Development Camp from June 2 to June 4.
Recent acquisitions Dwight Helminen, Rick Kozak, David Liffiton and Greg Moore, as well as 2003 first round draft choice Hugh Jessiman (right), will be among the players coming to New York for on and off-ice training sessions under the direction of the Rangers training staff.
Each morning, Rangers Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Reg Grant will put the players through various off-ice drills in the fitness room at the MSG Training Center that focus on strength, balance, quickness and agility.
Then it will be time to hit the ice, where the prospects will work mostly on skills such as skating, stickhandling and shooting.
The three days in New York will also provide the players, many of whom have never been to the Big Apple, to take in some of the sights and sounds of the city during their stay, including a visit to the ESPN Zone in Times Square and a trip to Shea Stadium to catch a Mets-Marlins game.
Be sure to check back later in the week for updates and photos from the camp.DEVELOPMENT CAMP ROSTER:
