Celebrate game of hockey on Saturday

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers
The Rangers will once again be participating in USA Hockey's Hockey Weekend Across America from Friday through Sunday in celebration of the sport and to give fans a chance to learn how to skate and play the game.

With its beautiful view of midtown Manhattan, Central Park's Wollman Rink is an ideal place for New Yorkers to celebrate the great game of hockey.
As part of the celebration, the Blueshirts' fan-development team will conduct clinics and skating sessions at Central Park's Wollman Rink on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m.

The schedule of events includes a free Learn to Skate/Learn to Play Hockey clinic at noon (download registration form), a sled hockey demonstration at 1 p.m., a clinic for special-needs youngsters at 2 p.m., a youth hockey clinic at 2:30, and a chance to skate with Rangers Alumni in a public skating session from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Former Blueshirts star Ron Duguay will participate in the public skating session, while Rangers legend Mike Richter and former Rangers and native New Yorkers Nick Fotiu and Brian Mullen will be on hand for the clinics. The day will also feature an autograph session.

The event is open to all fans. Rental skates and hockey equipment will be available. Fans taking part in the afternoon-long event will need to pay the Wollman Rink public-skating admission fee. For more information on Wollman Rink, visit the rink’s official site.
