CCHA CLASH PITS HOLT VS. MONTOYA
This weekend's matchup between #6 Michigan and Nebraska-Omaha runs deeper than the obvious CCHA rivalry. It also marks a showdown between two of the top goaltending prospects in the Rangers organization, Al Montoya and Chris Holt.

Montoya is in the hunt for his third straight 20-win season, currently sitting at 19-6-3, along with a 2.63 goals against average and a .897 save percentage. The Michigan netminder is currently unbeaten (1-0-2) in his last three games. In addition, Montoya has registered a 3-0-1 career mark in Omaha and a 5-1-1 lifetime record vs. the Mavericks, along with a 1.84 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. A native of Glenview, Illinois, Montoya was New York's first round selection, sixth overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Holt, who has posted a 15-9-3 record thus far, ranks fifth in the CCHA with a 2.53 GAA and second among league netminders with 726 saves. Like Montoya, Holt is also riding an unbeaten streak of late, going 3-0-1 in his last four outings. The Vancouver, British Columbia native was the Rangers' eighth selection (sixth round), 180th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Michigan and UNO have met on 17 prior occasions dating back to 1999, with the Wolverines holding a 12-3-2 series lead.
