Bure Off to Best Start in Rangers History

by Staff Writer / New York Rangers

After his three point performance (two goals, one assist) on Tuesday vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs, right Wing Pavel Bure is now the first player in Rangers history to tally 14 goals in his first 13 games as a Ranger. He has now registered 23 points in those 13 games, registering 14 goals and nine assists over the span.

During his brilliant career, Bure has eclipsed the 60-goal mark twice in his NHL career (1992-93, 1993-94) and the 50-goal mark five times (1992-93, 1993-94, 1997-98, 1999-00, 2000-01). Entering the 2002-2003 season, nobody in the NHL tallied more goals than the 151 Bure did from the 1999-2002. Now in his 12th NHL season, and first full campaign with New York, he is a six-time All-Star and has led the NHL in goals three times (1993-94, 1999-00, 2000-01).
