On Friday, Oct. 2, iamaranger.com will get a facelift -- and a new name -- with the launch of a revised social network called Blueshirts United (blueshirtsunited.com).
The Blueshirts United community, part of a larger initiative by the Rangers organization to bring fans and players closer together, will feature enhanced functionality over the current iamaranger.com site, including a new feature where fans can upload their own photos and artwork displaying their Rangers pride for instant display in a community gallery, and more behind-the-scenes video involving Rangers players and more participation by players, including regular question-and-answer sessions on the site's message board.
You'll also find a remarkable map which will show you how many members of the social network are located in each city and state as well as other countries. Are there more Rangers fans in Great Britain, Germany or Sweden? In the new Blueshirts United, you'll be able to tell with a click of the mouse.
Message boards and blogs from iamaranger.com will continue in their present form on the Blueshirts United site, although the look and feel will be altered to conform with the new overall design. Fans can continue to upload their own video and photos to their profile pages and connect with others through a Groups feature that will be revised and expanded in the new site.
In addition to its social network, Blueshirts United will offer opportunities for fans to sign up for any one of three levels of season-long membership -- Blueshirt Fanatics Club, the Captains Club and the Legends Club. Members of these clubs will receive merchandise as well as access to tickets, opportunities to meet Rangers players and alumni, and invitations to attend unique pregame events. In joining the Blueshirts United universe, you'll become a card-carrying memberof a community of fans who share your pride and passion for the New York Rangers.
